The unique topography of the ranch allows us to offer campsites that feel very disbursed and secluded. The sites themselves are spread out along 2 miles of Saline River. There is hiking galore, with over 9 miles of trails currently mapped through the rugged canyons and up the cliffs. Seasonally, bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will be enthralled, and wildlife lovers can expect to find porcupines, turkeys, and whitetail deer throughout the property.
We proudly partner with HipCamp, a camping app designed to connect landowners with campers for a unique experience. In 2020, our first year as a campground, we were voted the #1 HipCamp in Kansas and the #2 RV campground in America!
Also available are the “Extras” that make every camping trip even better! These are available when you book your site through HipCamp (or upon request, once you get here), and include:
Ranch tours - a 2 hour tour of the ranch in a Polaris Ranger that’s fun for the whole family! You’ll hear about the unique history of the ranch (that includes Hickock, Cody, the US 7th Cavalry, and George Custer himself), we’ll cross the river and see hidden waterfalls before ending up on the top of the cliffs themselves!
River floats - we’ll start you at one end of campground and you float around the entire loop! You float for almost 2 miles, stopping when you want to play or explore. With the amazing scenery, it’s the best lazy river you’ll ever be on! We have several different ways to float, but the most popular is the stock tank (it includes an inflatable couch)! Also available: an inflatable and paddleboats. Floats are dependent on river conditions but are an amazing experience for the family!
Food baskets - what’s a campout without authentic campfire food?? Try one of our baskets for a hassle-free experience! Choose from half-pound hamburgers made with our own, ranch-raised beef or brats made from locally raised pigs, ready to be cooked over your campfire. Baskets include a generous helping of Cynthia’s homemade seasoned potatoes and all the fixings you need for a campfire feast!
We look forward to your stay with us!
